Biofeedback shows how the body reacts to different situations in daily life, such as stress, fear or joy by changing the heart rate, breathing, muscle tension, finger temperature, skin conductance. It promotes self-perception and enables a deep understanding of one’s own reactions and patterns of action. This book illustrates in a very practical way the possible applications in sports, for common civilisation diseases, such as essential high blood pressure, muscle tension, panic or migraine. It also deals with the therapeutic possibilities for high stress levels, maintaining performance and inner resources. Special attention was also paid to topics specific to women, such as menopausal problems, birth preparation, pelvic floor training. The author is an experienced biofeeedback specialist and with this book she passes on her experience to therapists, trainers, doctors and other interested parties.
